Content Production

I lead content production across formats, from video and webinars to eBooks, newsletters, blog posts, and sales enablement. My role ranges from hands-on writing and editing to creative direction, production management, and building the processes that help my team scale output. Below is a selection of my work across ASAPP, SciNote, and UBC Physics & Astronomy.

Videos

I led the Content & Design team to produce a few ad series at ASAPP. In each case, I drove the creative direction and production, and we worked through the concept and style as a team. I reviewed and approved the scripts and storyboard, owned the budget and timeline, and approved the final cuts.

AI pain points (video ads)

This series focused on AI pain points in customer experience. We worked with a Raleigh-based video production agency for the shoot, with our videographer handling on-site direction and production management.

AI contrast before/after (video ads)

This ad series was our experiment with AI-generated videos. Because the videos were generated using Sora, I worked closely with our videographer over the constraints of AI, and paid extra attention to AI artifacts. I also ensured that the scenarios were hypothetical.

For stories centered on people and human emotion, I believe real actors and on-site production are more appropriate. That decision was deliberate: we chose AI for this series and on-site production with actors for the previous one (AI pain points).

UBC Physics & Astronomy Recruitment Video

This is a brand video I produced for UBC Department of Physics & Astronomy. It was made during Covid, so no on-site filming was permitted. Instead, I wrote the script, and went through UBC Brand’s video library to find matching imagery and existing footage that will help tell the story of the department, and then work with UBC Production to time the video to the right moments. The video also features the department’s major partnering institutions and experiments.

Newsletters

I’ve produced newsletters for several companies and organizations. While most of them have been summary newsletters, the ASAPP newsletter stood out as one where every month, I include a personal introduction that connects personal stories to the theme of the newsletter. The top-performing ones were:
